HOMESTEAD Nutrition Project
The HOMESTEAD Nutrition Project has 29 meal sites located in Northwest Kansas and delivers meals to an additional 10 towns. The HOMESTEAD Nutrition Project is funded through participant contributions, federal, state and county funds. The meals served meet USDA guidelines and provide a minimum of 1/3 the recommended daily allowance of Vitamin C and Vitamin A. Link to: Congregate Meals Program
The Congregate Meals program is designed to bring people age 60 and over together to share a hot nutritious meal, fun & friendship. Our goal is to enrich the lives of seniors by providing nutrition education, promoting better health through a daily well-balanced meal and better mental health by providing a place for fellowship with other senior citizens. To make a reservation please call your local meal site by noon the day before. The requested contribution for those over 60 is $2.75. Those under 60 may also purchase a meal, but must pay the full meal cost of $5.00. Home Delivered Meals Program
The Home Delivered Meals program is designed to provide meals to those who are unable to shop or prepare meals for themselves. The meals are delivered by volunteers. Our goal is to enable seniors to remain in their own homes and improve their health through proper diet and good nutrition information. A participant must be 60 or over or an eligible participant and unable to attend a mealsite. For information on eligibility or how to receive a home delivered meal, please call 1-800-432-7422. The requested contribution for those over 60 is $2.75. Homebound individuals under 60 may also purchase a meal, but must pay the full meal cost of $5.75. |
