Energy Assistance Programs

Midwest Energy wants to inform you of two Energy financial assistance programs available.

1.  Midwest Customers Care Program - Midwest Customers Care is a program funded by voluntary donations from Midwest Energy Customers and employees.  Qualifying customers must have a household income of less than 200 percent of the federal poverty level and can receive up to $200 per heating season.  Assistance is available from November 1st through the end of April, or when the funding is exhausted, whichever comes first.  To apply for energy assistance please call The Salvation Army at 1-877-566-2769 ext 401.

2.  The Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIEAP) - The Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIEAP) assists needy persons with their home energy costs.  To apply for the program, please contact a SRS office near you by calling 1-800-732-0043.  Applications for 2010 assistance will be accepted effective January 19th until the close of business, March 31, 2010.
