Homestead Tax Refund

Description of Benefits / Services

Provides yearly refunds to persons who own or rent to offset the effect of inflation on property taxes or rent.  Refund amount is determined by comparing income to taxes paid or 20% of rent paid.

Requirements

• Age 55+ or disabled or minor child living in the home.
• Must have been a resident of Kansas all of the previous year.
• Total household income under $29,100 (including 1/2 of Social Security)

Applications available at each County Clerk's office

Filing deadline is April 15
